Governor Hyacinth Alia’s smooth operations have continued to speak volumes of his enviable antecedents. In less than two years in office as the number one citizen of Benue state, Reverend Father Alia has identified green areas for development. His state being the Food Basket of the Nation, the governor has commenced negotiation with the Agricultural Development Company (ADC) to improve agricultural production.
Unfortunately, he is facing challenges from opposition who feel exposed by his achievements and are using herders to disrupt his laudable projects. Notwithstanding, Governor Alia is determined to end the oppression of his people as well as eliminate hunger caused by lack of vision of past administrations. Fr. Alia desires to get to the bridge of his purpose in his state and cross it as destined by God.
The governor can be likened to the Military President of Burkina Faso Ibrahim Traore who is setting a pace in agricultural revolution. Alia is also setting a pace to improve food security in Benue state and Nigeria as a whole. Aware that his people are predominantly farmers, he wants to cultivate a large expanse of land that will eradicate hunger in Benue state. When President Traore took over leadership in Burkina Faso, ignorant persons protested the need for civilian governance without having long sight to see him as a game changer for his people’s better tomorrow.
Fr. Alia is toeing the line of that man divinely chosen to free his generation from mental slavery and hunger as prophesied by the late Reggae legend Bob Marley. The governor has identified natural gifts in his land and is out to explore them for the benefit of his people and the world at large. Worthy of mention is his strategic idea to boost agriculture.
He has visioned the problems of his citizens who solicit his deliverance with his long sightedness like Joseph did to his brothers in Egypt. He has also taken a bold step to make Benue an enviable and distinguished state.
The commendation of his good works by his people can be considered a successful campaign victory and their endorsement for his second term.
However, the state indigenes have shown that monetary offers from disgruntled politicians full of deceit during campaigns have not added values to their lives but rather, left them in slavery that Fr Alia is intensifying efforts to emancipate them from.
A new life is trending in the state as the government house is structurally redesigned to fit the status. The government house is also open to ideas that will make agriculture rule the world and be more in demand than crude oil.
Benue state is richly blessed with citrus, yam, cassava, maize, orange, mango and many fruits. But past leaders were mainly focused on developing their personal glass houses in Abuja with money meant for the development of Benue state.
Fr Alia has demonstrated his true representation of Jesus Christ and a man after God’s heart. Just like King David of old, Alia is defeating enemies of the state with the name of the Lord and his projects. But those fighting the state with bows and arrows will only bow to one sling of David. Also, with the love of his people both high and mighty that support all his developmental efforts in the state, every Philistine in human form will go down for his sake.
