Gombe roads repair to boost economic activities – Perm sec

Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure in Gombe state, Engr. Abubakar Musa Bappa, has disclosed that the ongoing township road development embarked upon by the state government would impact on the social and economic development.
Speaking to newsmen yesterday, Bappa said ongoing projects were a continuation of Gombe Township Road Development Programme by the Governor Ibrahim Dankwambo’s administration.

He said government “is currently working on the procurement of other roads within the state capital, including federal roads,” adding that the state recently received approval from the federal government for the continuation of dual roads from Tumfure to the International Airport on Bauchi road.
“Construction works are being done in phases due to competing demands and the current economic situation of the country; the state government is committed to ensuring meaningful development that would have direct bearing on the people,” he said.
