Gombe governor preaches unity, compassion amid challenges 

 

In a heartfelt message to the Muslim Ummah in Gombe state, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, weekend, extended his warm felicitations on the occasion of this year’s Eid el-kabir celebration.

The governor stated the enduring significance of unity, sacrifice, and compassion, especially during the current socio-economic and security challenges.

Governor Yahaya highlighted Eid el-kabir as a profound reminder of sacrifice, sharing, and caring, urging the faithful to embody the spirit of obedience, love, and resilience demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and upheld by Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

He called for continuous prayers for peace, prosperity, and development in Gombe state and Nigeria.

“Although this year’s celebration comes at a challenging time, we must not forget the valuable lessons of Eid el-kabir,” the governor said.

He encouraged people to hold fast to the festival’s teachings of selflessness, love, and obedience to Almighty Allah’s commands.

He is expressing gratitude to traditional rulers, community and religious leaders, and the people of the state.

Governor Yahaya reassured them of his administration’s unwavering commitment to implementing policies and projects aimed at driving socio-economic progress.

“We remain resolute in our determination to execute people-oriented policies and programmes for the betterment of our dear state,” he affirmed.

While stressing the importance of security, Governor Yahaya urged citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities that could threaten peace. He pledged continued support for security agencies, emphasising the government’s primary responsibility to protect lives and property.
