God made us to impact the world – NCPC boss

Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Rev.Tor Uja, has said that “Nigeria is a great country and God made us to impact the world.” He stated this recently in Abuja during the 3rd Conference of Pilgrimage Leaders and Managers of Nigeria. According to him, Nigeria is the country with the greatest Church revival and “Nigeria is a great country that even though we debate a lot but we do not war.” “Wisdom is better than weapons of war” He commended President Muhammadu Buhari and the Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, for their overwhelming support for Christian Pilgrimage.

He said he would ensure that “every Nigerian who goes on pilgrimage comes back alive,” stressing that “every single Nigerian pilgrim is important to us.” Th e NCPC boss said the Church had a role to play in Christian Pilgrimage, adding that the “Church in Nigeria has the capacity to take ownership of Christian Pilgrimage.” He explained that the essence of their journey to Israel, Greece and Rome for the State of Readiness visit was to inspect and select sites and hotels for the October-December Pilgrimage. Uja also said the Commission and the Pilgrimage Leaders and Managers should discourage abandonment in its entirety, stressing that “Nigeria remains the best place to be.” In his remarks, the chairmen of the Conference of States, who is also the Chairman of the Taraba state Christian Pilgrim Welfare Board, Rev. Isaiah Magaji, called on all the chairmen and secretaries of the states Christian Pilgrim Welfare Boards to be more committed to the promotion and development of Christian Pilgrimage in their various states. He urged them to see their journey for the State of Readiness to Israel, Greece and Rome as a spiritual journey and not mere offi cial trip.
