GFF spends $20m on North-east health sector

In order to improve on maternal, newborn child and adolescent health and nutrition, the Global Financing Facility (GFF) has spent $20 million in five states of the Northeast under the Nigeria States Health Investment Programme (NSHIP).

Esther Agbor, revealed this at a meeting with civil society organisations and the media in Gombe, saying that the beneficiaries state are Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe and Yobe.
She said $20million was also allocated to six pilot states under the programme that include Abia, Edo, Niger, Katsina, Osun and Yobe.

Agbor said the funds strengthen health financing on maternal, newborn child and adolescent health and nutrition in the states.
She emphasised on the need for civil society organizations and the media to support in identifying a clear set of priority results that all partners commit their resources to achieve.
The Global Financing Facility (GFF) helps countries significantly increase investment in the health of their people especially the low and medium income countries that did not met the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) in the area of heath.
