The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Abɗullahi Ganduje, has charged the youth to embrace vocational training as a means of survival and stop hoping on scarce office jobs.
Speaking at the opening of a “Progressive Enterprise Skills Development Training”, organised for 2,000 youth by the APC National Youth leader Dayo Israel, Alhaji Ganduje noted that most countries that advanced like China, Japan included skill acquisition in their school curriculum and they started acquiring vocational training right from their childhood.
At the programme held at Maryland Lagos, the National Chairman, represented by the party Deputy National Chairman (South), Chief Emma Enukwu said he had affection for the development of the youth, and passionate about any issue that affected them.
He encouraged the youth to take advantage of the skill acquisition organised by the youth wing of the party to develop themselves, adding that it was the only way to develop Nigeria.
Alhaji Ganduje noted that if skill acquisition became the vogue in Nigeria, the level of unemployment and crime would be reduced because the youth would be engaged meaningfully.
According to him, “the president is bothered about insecurity in the country, we can tackle it by changing our school curriculum and including vocational training in the curriculum.”
