The Abdullahi Gwandu Association, a nongovernmental organisation has solicited for contributions towards the construction of a 50- bed capacity hospital in Minna at the cost of N50m.
The chairman, Niger state chapter of the association, Alhaji Hassan Usman Shiroro, stated this weekend at an event.
He said, “The decision to organise this gathering is born out of genuine interest to construct a 50 bed capacity hospital for the benefit of people from Kebbi and Niger states in addition to other people residing in the state.”
He added that the association has also spent millions of naira in providing assistance to some widows, orphans and those in IDP camps in parts of Niger state.
In an address, the state governor, Abubakar Sani Bello, expressed readiness to partner with any organisation willing to impact positively on the lives of the people.
Represented by the state Commissioner of Land and Housing, Alhaji Danladi Usman Doko, the governor stated that improving living condition of residents of Niger state remains his administration’s cardinal principal , adding that, “we will welcome any move targeted at achieving this objective.”
Emirs of Minna and Gwandu, Alhaji Umar Faruk Bahago and Alhaji Muhammadu Ilyasu Bashar, represented by the Cika Soron Minna, Alhaji Suleiman Babangida declared full support to the ideals of setting of the Abdullahi Gwandu Association in Niger state.
