Former Super Eagles star is dead

Former Nigerian Super Eagles midfielder, Emmanuel Ebiede, is dead.

According to his daughter, Ebiede died at the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital, in Port Harcourt on Friday, after suffering Hepatomegaly.

The 47-year-old is survived by his wife and three children.

Ebiede was part of the Flying Eagles squad at the African Youth Championship on home soil in 1995.

He won only two caps for the senior Nigeria national team, making his debut under Serbian Bora Milutinovic in the 1-0 win over Iran in a friendly match played before the 1998 World Cup.
