Food security: Niger, OneAcreFund partner on agricultural inputs 

The Niger state Commissioner of Agriculture, Hon Musa Bawa Bosso, has described the OneAcreFund as a dependable partner complimenting government efforts at ensuring food security in the country. 

Bosso stated this at the distribution of 12.5m metric tons of fertilisers and other agricultural inputs to farmers in Maikunkele area of Niger state. 

He said, ” Government recognises and appreciates  OneAcreFund for assisting farmers in the state with inputs which has ensured high yields of crops over the years. I am aware that 940, 000 farmers are beneficiaries of this laudable initiative this year in Niger, Kwara and Nasarawa states. I am happy to say that this programme has been playing complimentary role in government agricultural policies aimed at ensuring food security in Nigeria “.

Represented by the Director of Agricultural Services, Adamu Garba Maikasua, the commissioner explained that the state government has given priority to the provision of fertilisers and other essential inputs to farmers.

Speaking in an interview, the system leader of OneAcreFund, Ade Adebayo, explained that the organisation is committed to fostering food security in the country, adding that ” In this 2025 farming season, over 94000 farmers from the three states of Niger, Kwara and Nasarawa are beneficiaries with 65,000  of them from Niger state because of the priority we give to the state.

“We are distributing to farmers in the 2025 season about 12.5 million metric tonnes of farm inputs including fertilizers (NPK & Urea) and Maize seedlings. In addition, we are also providing one million tree seedlings to be distributed to 461, 700 farmers to strengthen climate resilience.”
