Barely three weeks after Governor Bindow Umaru Jibrilla called for the postponement of local government elections in Adamawa, has the state Independent Electoral Commission (SIEC) finally shifted it.
Information Officer of the Commission, Malam Danladi Mahmood, disclosed this in an interview with newsmen in Yola yesterday.

He said the decision was taken at a meeting with nine registered political parties that would participate in the election.
According to him, the election has been shifted from May 25, to July 30, to create more time for the conduct credible and acceptable polls.
He stressed that the leadership crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Adamawa which led to conduct of parallel primaries by the two factions loyal to Ali Sherriff and Ahmed Makarfi camps also put the Commission in confusion as to which faction to recognise.
