FG directive: Customs reopens Illela border

The Nigerian Customs Services  (NCS) has in compliance with the federal government directives reopen Illela border, calling on the members of the public to always observe international border rules

This was contained in a press statement issued and made available to newsmen in Sokoto by the,  Customs Public Relations Officer,  Superintendent Abdullahi Tsafe Abubakar  

He said that the Area Comptroller of Customs, Sokoto Area Command Alhaji Kamal Mohammed on announced opening of the  Illela border for free movement of vehicles and commercial activities which has been closed  since July last year

Alhaji Kamal charged ministries Department,  Agencies  and security agencies at the border station to give maximum collaboration to each other in the area of trade facilitation, information and intelligence sharing for a safe, efficient and effective service delivery at the border. 

The Comptroller has further stated that the Comptroller General of Customs Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR commended the customs license agents and the Illela community for their patience and cooperation during the 7 months border closure. 

He assured the general public of a renewed and better service delivery while calling on them to abide by the import and export extant laws.
