Minister of State for Power, Works and Housing, Mustapha Baba Shehuri, has called on all contractors handling federal government road projects to expedite action on their work.
Shehuri stated this while on a five-day working inspection visit to verify the level of work on some on-going federal road projects in the North-east geo-political zone of the country.
According to a statement issued by the ministry, minister, while at the Kano – Maiduguri Dualisation project, Section 5, Maiduguri – Damaturu, said “Nigeria attaches great importance to the completion of the project and as such,” urging the contractor handling the project, Messrs CCECC, to expedite action on the pace of work.
He advised the contractor not to relent in his efforts, promising to facilitate the release of funds which was one of the major problems affecting the speed of work as highlighted by the contractor.
The contractor on his part assured that the project would be delivered within the next two years, subject to availability of funds.
