Federal High Court Abuja decides SDP leadership tussle today 

 

The suit for the leadership tussle of Social Democratic Party (SDP) between the Prof Tunde Adeniran faction and that led Chief Supo Shonibare comes up today at Federal High Court in Abuja.

Both factions have laid claims to the leadership of the party since the former national chairman, Chief Olu Falae resigned his position.

While Sonibare who is also leading a faction as national chairman  insisted that his tenure is yet to expire having been elected in 2016 at a national convention of of the party, Prof Tunde Adeniran & Alhaji Shehu Gabam who joined SDP from PDP in 2018 and are claiming to be the national chairman and national secretary respectively.

The verdict of the court will determine the authentic leadership of SDP as crisis that engulfed the party since the primary elections to determine who would bear the flag at last  year’s presidential election.  

Blueprint learnt that since then, the various state organs have been supporting one faction or the other thus depleting the party’s fortunes.
