Determined to ensure stability and improvement in water supply within Abuja, including satellite towns, the acting General Manager of FCT Water Board, Mrs Olanike Korede-Ajanaku, has warned that the agency would go hard on saboteurs.

She warned that the Board would deal ruthlessly with staff that connive to engage in “unauthorised and unilateral reversal of water” meant for the residents of Abuja.

The GM said the committee she put in place has detected that water supply to distribution networks no longer reach the target customers because of illegal diversion.

She, however, promised that within the next few weeks, residents of the FCT and its suburb will have adequate and uninterrupted potable water supply.

Olanike said all hands were on the deck to provide water as at when due to residents of Abuja.

Korede-Ajanaku said, desirous to increase its revenue, the area offices of the Board have been mandated to go on revenue drive.

In order to keep providing quality service, the GM enjoined residents to pay their bills promptly, warning however that payment must be through remittal and not through staff in cash.

She announced that the Board has acquired modern machines for easy and quick print of bills for customers, stressing: “Please don’t patronise staff or touts when you want to pay your bills. Go to our area offices and make your payment without hindrance.”

Mrs. Olanike also urged residents to utilise the water judiciously and refrain from wastages. This she said residents can do by reporting burst pipes to the Board promptly.
