Father orders son’s remand in Suleja prison

A 55-year-man, popularly call Seiki-Baki, meaning the ‘chief of strangers’ in Gwazunu in Suleja, yesterday ordered that his son, Jiya, 27-year-old, father of three, should be remanded in prison.
It was gathered that Jiya, was becoming notorious in his lifestyle was keeping bad company of friends, who smoke India hemp and as such, often act violently without control.
Residents of the area told Blueprint that Jiya had been violent on several occasions, including breaking car windscreen of a neighbour and once beaten a 12-year-old girl to the point of death.
His father said with tears: “I have developed high blood pressure over my first son’s violent act. How can I continue with this act, if Jiya commits a crime, he will abscond to an unknown place till the situation is calm you will see him coming back home innocently.
“I have ordered that Jiya should be remanded let me see if he will have a rethink and change from his ways of life.
“Initially I have had him detained for 12 days still there was no changes”, he added.
Police source from ‘B’ confirmed that Jiya has been on a wanted list, how severally he has committed crimes and absconded.
