Farmers in Akwa Ibom State have been advised to see the need to form cooperative organisations to benefit from government grants and loans.
The wife of the immediate past Interim Administrator of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Mrs. Ekonganwan Akwa advised while addressing selected groups of farmers in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital recently.
Mrs. Ekonganwan Akwa further noted that the idea of forming a cooperative organization is immensely beneficial to the farmers, which according to her is the only way the government and private organisations can be attracted to the farmers.
“When you form cooperative organisations, you make it easier for government and private organisations to come to your aid easily. This is because they cannot attend to your needs individually, but when you come together under one umbrella, you make it possible for them to easily reach out to you,” she said.
