Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, the Etsu Nupe and Chairman, Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, has expressed sadness over the death of Hajiya Aishetu Gogo-Agaba, saying the loss was to his family, the Emirate, Niger state and the country in general.

Abubakar noted that the late Hajiya Gogo-Agaba mother of Fokpo Raba Nupe, Alhaji Abubakar Suleiman, lived an accomplished and fulfilled life.

Gogo-Agaba, who died on Friday at the age of 85, was a paternal grand daughter of Etsu Muhammadu Bello, the 7th Etsu Nupe.

The deceased was the
daughter of the late Alhaji Muhammadu Shafii, the Nakordin Nupe.

Abubakar said this in Bida, shortly after the 3-day fidau prayer for Hajiya Gogo-Agaba in Bida on Sunday.

The monarch directed that special prayers be offered for the deceased late husband, Alhaji Suleiman Bako, whom he described as an elder cousin.

Abubakar said the deceased was a committed technocrat, patriotic woman and a de-tribalised Nigerian.

“Though God has his reasons for taking her at this point in time, the people of the emirate had enjoyed her motherly advice, which will be greatly missed,” the royal father said.

The Etsu Nupe, however, urged the deceased family to sustain her good legacy, adding that she always put the unity of Bida emirate first, irrespective of ethnic, political and religious divide.

He prayed Allah to reward her soul in eternity and give her family and the emirate the fortitude to bear the loss.
