Mexico’s Ambassador to Nigeria Marco Antonio Garcia Blanco has expressed hope that in years to come his country and Nigeria would reap bountifully from their bilateral cooperation.
Blanco stated this at the first anniversary of the Nigerian-Mexican Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Picture exhibition “Mexico.”
According to him, the beginning of activities of the chamber was a step of major significance to expand and strengthen the ties that bind both countries which will allow effective identification of business opportunities, investments, joint ventures and specific strategic alliances to boost and diversify bilateral trade.
“Likewise, the chamber of commerce will facilitate greater and better relations between businessmen who are the key players in any commercial relationship. Therefore, the major benefit of the chamber is to allow the organization and systemization of efforts of the business community of both countries, so as to harness the enormous potential that Nigeria and Mexico have to offer in business,” he said.
He lauded the leadership of the organization that designed the developed the initiative two years ago and the entire team Puzzles Group, custodians of the outfit and the Embassy that participated in the development of the project.
Blanco therefore urged the chamber not to relent but be up and doing to ensure that more success is achieved in years to cone, as well as contribute to the development of Nigeria and Mexico.
In his brief remarks, the Executive Secretary of the Nigeria-Mexico Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dr Tokunbo Onasanya said there is a lot to be achieved given the fact Nigeria and Mexico have a lot to share and gain from such viable venture.
Specifically, both countries can collaborate not only on trade but Nigeria’s Customs, NDLEA, Immigration, sports and other sectors can also partner those of Mexico for maximum benefits.
