Notwithstanding that the Enugu state government has banned the every Monday sit-at-home order initiated by a faction of IPOB, residents of Enugu metropolis still observes the order, Blueprint has gathered.

Banks, shops, markets, eateries and  filling stations remained closed in the Coal City in the morning hours of Monday.

Movements however began to pick around 2 pm.

Recall that on Friday, Gov. Mbah invited media practitioners to Government House, Enugu, saying that the ban on sit-at-home  still remained.

Mbah intimated the media that it was no longer about the IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, but criminals terrorising the state.

“We have demanded the release of Nnamdi Kanu.  This is not about Nnamdi Kanu.  It is people who are benefiting from the sit-at-home.  We are talking about a tiny number that is terrorising us,” Mbah said.

However, the continued observance of the banned sit-at-home in the metropolis could be attributed to pandemonium that was created last week Wednesday which sent people scampering when it was said that unknown gunmen shot sporadically into the air.
