The former special adviser to the president on Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Ita Enang, has engaged stakeholders of Itu local government area of Akwa Ibom state in a dialogue for the settlement of the compensation dispute that erupted recently in the area.

Addressing stakeholders Monday at Itu Council Hall, Enang narrated the genesis of the project and recalled how he tried aimlessly to get the dualisation project in the budget while serving in the Senate.

Blueprint correspondent reports that present at the meeting were the LGA chairman, Hon. Etetim Onuk, the vice chairman, Emem Ekpanya, the paramount ruler of Itu, councilors and supervisors, including the managing director of Base Engineering Services, Bassey Ekanem.

He noted that the project which was initiated and funded by President Muhammadu Bubari came through while he served as Presidential Adviser on Senate Matters.

“I couldn’t get this project as Senator under the PDP. But when I decamped to the APC, the Lord was with me and I found favour to be an adviser to the president on National Assembly Matters (Senate). By that appointment, I had the privilege of being involved in budgets and other issues.” (Ripples Nigeria)
