The Akwa Ibom State governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel has created a new ministry, known as the Ministry of Power and Petroleum Development.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr Emmanuel Ekuwem and obtained by Blueprint Monday in Uyo, the state capital.
According to the statement, the Governor who approved allocation of ministerial portfolios to newly sworn-in commissioners, said the new ministry be manned by Dr. John James Etim, one on the four new commissioners.
Other Commissioners include; Pastor Umo Bassey Eno- Ministry of Lands & Water Resources, Mrs. Idongesit Iboro Etiebet- Ministry of Education and Uko Essien Udom- Ministry of Justice & Attorney General
The statement reads: “His Excellency the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, has approved the creation of a new Ministry of Power and Petroleum Development in the state.
“With the swearing in of 4 new commissioners today, the allocation of ministerial portfolios, was approved by His Excellency the Governor,
“On behalf of the government and the good people of Akwa Ibom State, His Excellency the Governor is thankful to the immediate past members of the State Executive Council for their services to the state and wishes them well in their future endeavours,” it added.
