The 77th Emir of Machina in Yobe state, Mai Machinama, Alhaji Dr. Bashir Albashir Bukar has commiserated with the federal government, the Borno state government and the Shehu of Borno over the recent Maiduguri and Jere local government flood disasters.
Bukar, who also appealed to individual corperate organisations to support those victims displaced by the flood hailed the management of North East Development Commission (NEDC) for the various community development programmes in the Northeast states.
The monarch specifically lauded the leadership style of the vice president, Senator Kashim Shettima, who oversees the Commission’s activities.
He also praised Governor Mai Malla Buni’s commitment to agricultural development, empowerment of the less previllege and many more, pledging support of his domain to the government.
He then called on the government of Yobe state and the federal government to take advantage of the annual durbar activity in his domain and help raise it to a national and international annual event in order to boost tourism in the state.
His statement reads further: “I hail the North East zone achievements since creation of Yobe out of former Borno state in 1991 to date.
“The development recorded so far in the areas of agriculture programmes, roads cconstructions have brought leadership and mentoring closer to the people in the North East region.
“I commend his excellency Governor Mai Mala Buni, the Chiroman Gujba) government leadership styles and his commitment to Agriculture development, empowerment of the less previllage and many more.
“I urge similar support for the council chairman and i urge all to take advantage of the government agricultural development program.
“I also ppeal to the youth in this emirate and the state to be good ambassador of the nation, shun drugs and listen to their parents advise.
“The wealthy individuals and Phillantropics in the society should also support the youths to acquire skills in order to be self reliance in the society and as future leaders.”
