Governor Nasir el-Rufai of Kaduna state has expressed shock at the death of Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Malam Abba Kyari.
He described his death as martyrdom.
Abba Kyari died on Friday in Lagos after battling Coronavirus, and was buried on Saturday in Abuja according to Islamic rites.
Governor el-Rufai, who tested positive for Covid-19 and is yet to recover, said the late Chief of Staff to Mr President died in the service of Nigeria.
Speaking on his verified twitter handle Saturday morning, el-Rufai tweeted, “This is absolutely shocking but “From God we came, & to Him we shall all return.”
“May the soul of Abba rest in perfect peace. May Allah Accept his martyrdom as he died in the service of PMB & Nigeria. May Allah give Aisha, her siblings & family the fortitude to bear the loss. NAE,” el-Rufai said.
