The wife of thimmediateate past Interim Administrator of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Mrs. Ekonganwan Akwa has described agriculture as the life-wire of any society, calling on women to see the need to venture into farming, which she said could also boost the revenue profile of the state.

Addressing a cross section of women who paid on her a courtesy visit, Mrs. Ekonganwan Akwa told the women they could make more money from agriculture than white-collar job, adding that in other parts of the country, a lot of women are into import and export of farm produce.

According to her, “I’m standing here as a proud farmer to advise you about agriculture. So many women are making enough profit from agriculture. Just like you rightly know, there’s no home today that does not depend on farm produce for survival; that explains the importance of agriculture, which I am here today to advise you to see the need to venture into it. So many of our women are already making enough money for themselves and you cannot be an exemption.”
