The Minister of Mines and Steal Development, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, will defi nitely contest the Ekiti State governorship election billed for July on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
This was confirmed yesterday by the wife of the minister, Erelu Bisi Fayemi, who stated yesterday that her husband will make public his intention to run in the coming governorship election in the state.
Speaking when she visited the State Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ado-Ekiti, Mrs.
Fayemi told the women group that were on hand to receive her to gear up to support her husband who will be throwing his hat into the ring soonest.
Mrs Fayemi, who was received by the Deputy Chairman of the party, Mrs.
Kemi Olaleye, Women Leader, Mrs.
Dupe Bakare and all the women leaders from all over the state, said she was there to solicit for their support for husband.
“I am to ask for support for Dr. Kayode Fayemi in the forthcoming Ekiti State gubernatorial election”, she said and promised to continue to support Ekiti women and ensure they are not left behind.
Responding, Mrs. Kemi Olaleye, lauded her for intimidating them with her husband’s intention and described her as “a true champion of women and has demonstrated this over the years.
She assured her that Ekiti women will rally round noting that the ex-First Lady is a “tried and tested” hand and called for peace and harmony in the APC family ahead of the election.
