Eid-el-Kabir: Ododo tasks Muslims on sacrifice, unity, peace

As Muslims all over the world celebrate Eid-el-Kabir,  Kogi state Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has called on Muslim faithful in the state and Nigeria at large  to imbibe the spirit of obedience, sacrifice, unity as demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim.

Addressing a large crowd that observed prayers at the Okene Central Eid ground on Friday, Governor Ododo charged Muslim faithful to remain committed to peace, compassion and unity in the interest of development of the state and Nigeria.

While emphasizing on the importance of peaceful coexistence and mutual respect among diverse religious and ethnic groups, the Governor noted that progress and development can only be achieved in an atmosphere of peace and tranquility.

He urged the people of the state to uphold the tenets of integrity, generosity, and a spirit of service at all time.

Speaking on the security situation of the state, Governor Ododo said,  his administration is deepening  security architecture to ensure that hoodlums and terrorists does not have a fertile ground to practice their nefarious act.

He appealed to the people of the state to support government effort in providing adequate security of life and property by volunteering useful information to security agents.

The Governor also called for support and prayer for the administration of President Bola  Tinubu, saying his  Renewed Hope Agenda is  laying a foundation for a more prosperous Nigeria.

Ododo was accompanied by the immediate  Governor of the state, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, the Chief of Staff, Ali Bello, APC Chairman Kogi State Chapter Hon. Abdullahi Bello, Commissioner for information Hon Kingsley Fanwo and other top government officials.
