Eid-el-Kabir: NGIJ urges Nigerians to be prayerful, sympathizes with victims of terrorist attacks

The Nigerian Guild of Investigative Journalists (NGIJ) has urged Nigerians to be steadfast, resilient and prayerful amidst the insecurity challenges facing the country.

NGIJ in a statement signed by its National President, Ayoyemi Mojoyinola and Public Relations Officer, Femi Oyewale, on Friday, felicitated the Muslim faithful in this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.

The guild advised Muslims across the country to celebrate with modesty and be security conscious before, during and after the celebrations.

“At the Guild, we facilitate with our Muslim brothers and sisters in the country on the celebration of this year’s Eid-el-Kabir. We also use this opportunity to sympathize with the victims of terrorist attack in the Kuje Correctional Centre, Abuja and presidential convoy in Katsina state,” the statement said.

NGIJ, therefore, tasked the Federal Government to step up security architecture across the country, adding that this is the best time to deploy technology for the security of the nation.

The Guild appreciated NGIJ members for their support and commitment towards its programmes and activities.
