Eid-el-Fitr : NSCDC deploys 1500 personnel in Oyo – Commandant

Oyo state command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) on Friday deployed 1500 personnel across the state for the 2025 Eid el-Fitr celebrations

This was contained in a statement by the Public Relations Officer, NSCDC, Oyo State Command, Samuel Olubanjo Opebiyi on behalf of the state NSCDC Commandant, Dr  Augustine Padonu 

According to the statement, the deployment of the 1500 personnel across the tate, is in line with the instruction  by the NSCDC Commandant General, Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi.

It stressed that all Area Commands and Divisions within the state should implement a comprehensive security plan, saying, “The primary objective is to safeguard Critical National Assets and Infrastructure, including all prayer grounds, motor parks, markets, high-traffic areas, recreation centres, mosques, road intersections, and other public places”. 

Oyo NSCDC stressed, ” This initiative aims to prevent crime and maintain public order during the festive period”, .

” In addition to the general deployment, specialized units have been mobilized to bolster emergency response capabilities. The Disaster Management Unit, Counter Terrorist Unit, Agro-Rangers, and the Anti-Vandalism Unit have each been assigned to carry out targeted operations to address any potential security threats. These measures are deemed essential to counter any untoward incidents during this critical period”, it said.

The command added, ” NSCDC personnel will also be collaborating with other security agencies to ensure a unified and robust security response. This coordinated effort is designed to provide an extra layer of protection, guaranteeing that all aspects of public safety and crime prevention are fully covered during the Eid al-Fitr celebrations.

“Our commitment is to provide a secure environment for all residents and visitors during this important festive period. We urge the public to cooperate with our personnel and remain vigilant. This joint effort with other security agencies is crucial in ensuring that the celebrations proceed without any disruptions.”
