Ahead of the primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Edo state governorship poll, members of the National Assembly on the platform of the party have declared their support for one of the aspirants, Godwin Obaseki, for the party’s ticket.

The lawmakers, who were at the national secretariat of APC to purchase nomination form for the aspirant, also said artisans in the state actually pulled resources together to purchase the form for Obaseki.
Addressing newsmen after they purchased the forms, leader of the caucus, Senate Deputy Minority Whip, and Senator representing Edo North Senatorial District, Francis Alimikhena, said among all the aspirants that had shown interest in the ticket, only Obaseki “has what it takes to govern the state.”
“We are here to purchase the ticket for the man we trust that can deliver Edo to the next level and the man is Godwin Obaseki, we believe in him, we trust him and we believe he will be the man to carry on where Comrade Adams Oshiomhole stop,” he said.

Also speaking, Deputy Minority Whip of the House of Representatives, and former Edo state SSG, Parry Iriase, said Obaseki would stand out from the crowd because of his outstanding programmes.
He said: “Obaseki is an embodiment of Ideas that would take Edo from the current level to the next level. Obaseki is the midwife of the blueprint to which comrade Adams Oshiomhole donated extreme courage to make Edo what is it today.
“If you are to mention two states that can pay salaries, Edo state is one and if you know what Obaseki wants in terms of Industrialisation, Obaseki is the one who has the blueprint to take Edo state away from Civil Service state to an industrialised one.”

The Edo Caucus promised to campaign for him and their coming to purchase the form is a demonstration of strength, demonstration of loyalty and demonstration of what they believed in.
Other members of the Edo caucus who accompanied Senator Alimikhena are; House of Representatives Member, Honourable, Philip Shuiabu, Honourable Peter Akpatason, and other supporters.
