The Izzi Nnodo Youth Forum Thursday defended Ebonyi state Governor, Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, over allegations that his appointments are one sided especially on the side of Izzi clan.
In a press release, the forum, led by Comr. Andrew Chibueze Elom JP, described an article published by Cajaten Njoku on July 24, 2025, as “false” and “misleading”.
The article, captioned “Ethnic Capture in Ebonyi: A Crisis of Justice Under Governor Nwifuru’s Watch”, allegedly made claims of ethnic bias and injustice under the governor’s leadership.
But the Izzi Nnodo Youth Forum rejected the allegations, describing Governor Nwifuru as an ‘illustrious son’ and ‘foremost member’ of the forum.
The forum condemned Njoku’s actions as a “malicious campaign of calumny” aimed at tarnishing the governor’s reputation.
“We urge the public to disregard Njoku’s publication and reaffirm our support for Governor Nwifuru’s leadership,” said Comr. Elom.
The forum emphasized the importance of protecting the governor’s reputation and promoting unity in Ebonyi state.
