As Christians around the world mark the 2025 Easter celebrations, Gombe state governor and Chairman of the Northern States Governors’ Forum (NSGF), Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has extended warm greetings to the Christian faithful, calling for deep reflection on the values of sacrifice, hope and renewal that define the season.
In a goodwill message issued on Easter Sunday, Governor Yahaya congratulated Christians in Gombe state and beyond for completing the Lenten season and urged them to draw inspiration from the life and teachings of Jesus Christ, which emphasize love, selflessness, and compassion.
“Easter symbolises love, sacrifice, and the triumph of good over evil.
“It is a time to reaffirm our faith in God, renew our commitment to the service of humanity, and promote peace and harmony in our communities.
“Governor Yahaya noted that the Easter season comes at a time when Nigeria faces numerous socio-economic and security challenges, particularly the resurgence of violence in parts of the north. He stated the importance of prayers, unity, and collaborative efforts to address these issues and steer the country toward a more secure and prosperous future.
“As a nation, we are going through trying times. But Easter reminds us that even in our darkest hours, there is hope. With collective effort, faith, and a renewed sense of patriotism, we will overcome our challenges and build a stronger, united Nigeria,” he said.
