Easter: Alia urges unity to defeat forces of evil


As Christians in Benue state and across Nigeria commemorate the Easter festivities, Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia, Sunday, called for collaboration and unity among the people of the state to defeat the forces of evil that seek to cause harm and suffering.


In a statement made available to newsmen Sunday, the governor reflected on the significance of Easter, highlighting the selflessness and sacrifice of Jesus Christ, which he said has brought hope and redemption to humanity.

Governor Alia acknowledged that this year’s Easter celebration comes at a time when Benue state is facing security challenges, with recent attacks affecting several communities.

He assured the people that his administration is working tirelessly with security agencies to ensure the safety of all residents.

He stated the importance of virtues such as love, forgiveness, sacrifice, and reconciliation, which he noted are central to the Easter message.
Governor Alia prayed for God’s grace and blessings over the people of Benue state during and after the Easter celebration.

While extending his warm felicitations to the Christian faithful he urged the faithful to continue praying for peace and stability in the state and the nation at large.

The governor’s message serves as a reminder of the importance of unity and resilience in the face of adversity, and his administration’s commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of all Benue residents.
