Nigerian striker Rafiu Durosinmi found the net for Viktoria Plzen in their 2-1 victory over Rangers, but it was not enough to stop the Scottish club from progressing to the UEFA Champions League play-off round.

Rangers had secured a commanding 3-0 win in the first leg, advancing 4-2 on aggregate despite Tuesday’s defeat in the Czech Republic.

Super Eagles forward Cyriel Dessers started the game for Rangers but was forced off in the 54th minute due to injury.

Durosinmi gave Plzen the lead four minutes before halftime, latching onto Amar Memić’s pass from the byline and firing a first-time strike past the goalkeeper.

Rangers equalised in the 61st minute through Lyall Cameron, who scored his first goal for the club after reacting quickly to a loose ball from Danilo’s attempt.

Plzen regained the lead in the 82nd minute when substitute Svetozar Marković headed home from a deep cross, but the result was not enough to overturn the first-leg deficit.

Rangers will now face their next opponents in the play-off round, starting with a home fixture at Ibrox next Tuesday.
