Doctors take free medical outreach to Abuja suburb

Medical doctors in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), under the auspices of the Nigeria Medical Association (NMA), FCT chapter, Monday, carried out free medical outreach to Jahi community in the FCT.

Speaking at the event, tagged “5th Ameyo Stella Adadevoh free medical outreach,” the national president of NMA, Dr Uche Rowland Ojinmah, said residents of the community will be taken care of as the doctors will not leave without attending to everyone that came to the venue.

He said: “We came today to contribute something to the development of this country. It should not always be about our complaining of bad government. If you do your part and I do my part, Nigeria will be better. We hold our meeting every four months. We usually carry out a outreach before the commencement of our meeting.

“We are grateful to the district head of Jahi for receiving us. Some communities usually demand for money or settlement before allowing us to carry out an outreach in their community. Therefore, we are grateful for being allowed to take of the medical needs of this community without paying a dime.

“As we are here, we will do our best for the community. We beg all of you to be orderly and do things in order. The doctors won’t leave until they attend to everyone here. Therefore, we pray for God to help us for our medicine to work for the people here.”

Also speaking, the chairman of FCT NMA, Dr Charles Ugwuanyi, said that Jahi was chosen strategically for the outreach as the doctors want to make a strong statement that they have passion for the wellbeing of individuals.
