Developed countries had their challenges – Agbakwu

By Donald Iorchir

Assistant Controller of Immigration, in charge of passport, Sir Moses Agbakwu, has said that there were some lessons Nigerians needed to learn which could shape “our minds for a better decision making that could positively impact on society.”
He stated this at a recent book launch in Kuje area council.
Agbakwu said “if these are effectively put into practice, they may provide the much-needed tonic for a better society and engender spiritual, educational, scientific and infrastructural development that could put Nigerians on the same pedestal as developed nations.
Agbakwu, who was the chairman at a book launch written by Sunday Okwu, entitled: “Wrong Side of Right” made this clarification in Kuje area council.
According to him, there are certain fundamental ideas that we Nigerians, at our various levels must imbibe for a better society.
He stressed that we must allow reason to guide our decisions and our decision must be proactive rather than reactive, remarking that “some of the challenges facing Nigerians today can be handled by refraining from acting on the wrong side of right.”
The book reviewer, Rev Fr Victor Nyoroh, said the book “is a simple read that highlights the bill of wrong that are parading social sphere of our society today vis-à-vis law abiding citizens who make efforts to keep the law existing side by side.”
He said the author had taken time to chronicle “these aberrations base on his profession as a journalist with some malfeasance detail that could go for news reporting.”
According to him, the author has done a commendable job by stitching together his random thoughts (nuisance) to a beautiful tapestry of a simple read for a reasonable person who wants to make sense from the morals of contradictions inflicting our society.
Earlier, the author of the book and publisher chief executive, Merit Time Magazine, Mr. Sunday Okwu Ojor, said this book is an attempt to x-ray three aspect of human design work for man; which he said the way we play politics in Nigeria with almost everything even with spirituality, the philosophy of morality and the right of individual to punishment (law).
