Delta auto crash claims 2 new born babies, 4 others

A ghastly motor accident, Thursday, killed six persons including two new born babies at Ibusa bye pass on the Asaba-Ughelli express way, close to ADP Farms in Oshimili North local government area of Delta state.

It was gathered that the accident occurred as a result of the ongoing construction work on the other lane which is uncompleted, forcing all vehicles to ply on one lane.

It was further learnt that recklessness of drivers involved in the accident and the ongoing road construction was the cause of the accident.

An eyewitness said that about six other persons sustained various degrees of injury.

He said that the fatal accident involved a Rodinna fast food vehicle, carrying provisions and a commercial bus carrying passengers.

According to him, “six persons died on the spot including two new born babies while about six other persons were severely injured.

“Accident occurred at Ibusa bypass in Delta state (close to ADP farms), as a result of uncompleted road construction work. All vehicle are passing one way”, he said.

As at press time, the number plates of the affected bus and long Vehicle Rodinna were not disclosed.

Text message and calls put to the cellphone of the Head of Operations, Federal Road Safety Corp (FRSC), Delta state Command, Bakare Fatai Adesina, were rebuffed.
