Delta: Association honours surveyor over contributions to estate development

The Association of Professional Bodies of Nigeria (APBN), Delta state chapter, Monday, honoured an estate surveyor and valuer, Christian Oghenekohwo Omoru, with the “Distinguished Professional” award during its 9th Public Lecture and Awards ceremony in Asaba, Delta State.

Themed “The Role of Professionals in the Successful Implementation of the Delta State Government M.O.R.E Agenda,” the event gathered top professionals in both public and private sectors.

Speaking at the event, Secretary to the Delta State Government, Dr. Kingsley Emu, highlighted the economic growth in the state, citing investments in infrastructure, SMEs and industrial parks as key drivers.

Highlight of the event was the recognition of Omoru for his exceptional contributions to estate surveying, environmental valuation, and professional development.

In his acceptance speech, Omoru, who is the Founder of Chris Oghene Omoru & Co., specialising in property valuation, environmental pollution management, and land rights awareness, expressed gratitude, saying: “This recognition is not just about me, but about the impact professionals can make in society.”

On his part, APBN Delta State Chairman, Surv. Victor Ezie, emphasised the role of professionals in governance, stressing the need for more investment in non-oil sectors.
