Delta state House of Assembly (DTHA) has denied the allegation of witch-hunting anybody as a result of the oversight function on the Independent Power Project (IPP).In a statement by the House Committee Chairman on Information, Hon. Tim Owhefere, in Asaba, the House expressed strict reliance on the Rule of Law and most importantly the right to fair hearing.

Owhefere, who doubles as Majority Leader, said what the House did was merely an oversight function in line with constitutional provision.
According to him, “it was never intended as a probe initiative against any individual on the IPP project.”
He, however, reaffirmed the commitment and resolve of the House to the fair and just in all matters that concern the welfare of all Deltans.
