Speaking while launching the first phase of the disbursement at Dogon Daji town, Tuesday, Hon Dasuki who was represented by his wife, Hajiya Jamila Wada Dasuki, said the welfare package was Hon Dasuki’s resolve to uplift the economic status of the womenfolk under his constituency.
She assured that the package would be a continuous exercise and similar gesture would be extended to male youth in Tambuwal and Kebbe local government areas.
“The initiative was aimed to provide sustainable economic opportunities for women already engaged in small-scale enterprises, with no fewer than 400 women benefiting from the first phase of the program.
“The empowerment initiative is targeted at boosting small and micro businesses across Tambuwal and Kebbe local government areas.
“This is the first disbursement. It reflects what we can afford at the moment, but as the saying goes, a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. We hope this gives people the confidence to support this cause.
“The beneficiaries were selected from all the 21 wards in the constituency and are already engaged in various trades and businesses that included tailoring, goat herding, spice production and cake biking.
“These women are doing noble and laudable things. They are not just starting out, they are already entrepreneurs in their own right. Empowering them will create triple effects that will touch entire communities,” Mrs. Wada Dasuki stated.
