Nigeria Limited has said that it would be trimming it’s workforce in Nigeria over changing business environment.
General Manager, Policy, Government and Public Affairs, Esimaje Brikinn in a statement said the due to changing manpower requirements in the light of the changing business environment occasioned by the coronavirus pandemic.
Brikinn said the new organizational structures will, unfortunately, require approximately 25 percent reduction in the work force across the various levels of our organisation.
“It is important to note that all our employees will retain their employment until the reorganization process is completed,” he noted.
According to the oil major, it would continue to evaluate opportunities to improve capital efficiency and reduce operating costs, which it said would lead to personnel cuts and improve service delivery and overall performance at all levels.
Brikinn explained that the aim is to have a business that is competitive and have an appropriately sized organization with improved processes. He said it will increase efficiency and effectiveness, retain value, reduce cost, and generate more revenue for the Federal Government of Nigeria.
