A Lagos High Court sitting in Ikeja has remanded a 35-year-old driver, Godwin Waheed, at the correctional facility for alleged sexual assault by penetration of a 33-year-old woman.
Waheed was arraigned by the Lagos state government on alleged offence bordering on an amended one count charge.
He allegedly committed the offence on October 15, 2023.
The offence is contrary to Section 261 of Criminal Law, Cap C.17, Vol Laws of Lagos state, 2015.
The charge reads: “Godwin Waheed on the 10th of October, 2023 on the Third Mainland Bridge in the Lagos judicial division did sexually assault (name withheld) by inserting your fingers in her vagina.
The prosecuting counsel, O.O. Alebiosu informed the court that the prosecution has listed eight witnesses to give evidence in this case.
