At least four persons have been confirmed dead, following a spark from a high voltage cable at the Kofar Gayan Low-Cost Housing, Zaria, Friday night.
An eye witness in the area, Mallam Sagir Nata’ala, said the incident occurred early morning of Friday around 1am when Kaduna Electric restored power supply in the community after four days of blackout in Zaria town.
He pointed out that the deceased, a couple and their two children, died in the incident and the house razed down by the inferno.
Confirming the incident, the head of Kaduna Fire Service Zonal office, Zaria, Mallam Umar Bello, said the incident might not be unconnected with electricity spark, explaining that both parents and their two children died in the inferno.
