Come home to invest, Ogun monarch tells Nigerians in diaspora

The Olu of Imasayi Kingdom in Yewa North local government area of Ogun state, Oba Lukman Adeleke Kuoye, has urged Nigerians living abroad to contribute to the economic development by investing in the country.

Oba Kuoye added that their diaspora remitta and investments would help curb insecurity and close the gap of unemployment in the country.

The monarch stated this while speaking with newsmen on the sidelines of the grand opening of Mafis Royal International Hotel in Abeokuta, the state capital.

The monarch while stressing that the backsliding on the country’s economy was tied to the exchange rate, appealed to the diaspora Nigerians to grab the opportunity and invest in the country.

“I want to encourage all those who are still there to remember home. Let’s look at what this has done to help the economy.

“The backsliding we are having in Nigeria economy is the exchange rate so if our people are coming to invest whatever they make over there it will go a long way here,” he said.

He however applauds the CEO, Alhaja Mojisola Fowewe, for the giant stride and emphasized that the hotel’s inauguration was a way to lower the state’s unemployment rate.

“For the very first day I came here I was encouraged, for someone who is a Nigerian working in the UK who knows that she should come and invest in her father’s land has done well,” he said.
