The Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru, was in Damaturu, Sunday, where he inspected the guard of honour at both sector 1 and 2 headquarters of Operation Lafiya Dole.
While addressing the troops, COAS said the aim of his visit to the Northeast part of the country was operational.
He added that the visits were intended to familiarise ourselves with how officers are going about ending the war against insurgency throughout the whole region.
“At the same time, I am here in person to bring you special greetings from Mr. President and Commander-in-Chief, in fact, I assure you he has the full knowledge of the effort you are putting in.
“Being the Chief of Army Staff I am aware of the challenges you are facing. I am making frantic effort to see we overcome it so as to have and ensure you have the highest level of morale to be able to accomplish the task before you”, Attahiru said.
