Chelsea have halted striker Nicolas Jackson’s loan move to Bayern Munich following an injury to their other forward, Liam Delap, which could sideline him for six to eight weeks.
Delap was injured during Chelsea’s 2-0 win over Fulham at Stamford Bridge on Saturday. With the England international out, Chelsea now want Jackson to stay at Stamford Bridge to provide attacking options.
Football transfer expert David Ornstein, quoting The Athletic, reported that Chelsea informed Bayern Munich that Jackson will no longer be allowed to leave.
Prior to Delap’s injury, Jackson was set to join the Bundesliga club, with the two sides agreeing on a £13 million loan deal on Saturday.
Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca acknowledged the club would be short of strikers after Delap’s injury and stressed the need for a quick solution.
