Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has declared that his team face an early exit from the 2024 African Nations Championship if they don’t improve on their performance.

Nigeria lost 1-0 to defending champions Senegal at the Amman Stadium, Zanzibar on Tuesday night.

Christian Kobi netted the decisive goal for the Senegalese in the 75th minute of the keenly contested encounter.

The Home based Super Eagles must now get a positive result in their next game against Sudan to avoid an early exit.

Chelle tasked his players to put up a better display against the Sudanese.

“We  need to improve our state of mind. We need to be more competitive, and once again be more aggressive,” the Malian told reporters.

“We will see,  for the games against Sudan and Congo, if we will  play same way . If we are scared about some things, we will go  back to Nigeria.”
