After five years of dedicated service, Ayo David Adeyemi has officially bowed out as the Nigerian Country Director of the International Youth Diplomacy Conference (IYDC), organized by IFED Global, Ghana. Adeyemi, who assumed leadership in 2016, played a pivotal role in shaping the participation of young Nigerians in the globally recognized conference.

Under his leadership, over 1,000 young Nigerians had the opportunity to attend IYDC, where they engaged in high-level discussions, networked with global changemakers from over 20 countries, and developed their diplomatic and leadership skills. His tenure was marked by an unwavering commitment to youth empowerment, fostering international collaboration, and providing young Nigerians with a platform to thrive on the global stage.

In recognition of his outstanding contributions, Ayo was honoured with the prestigious IYDC Ambassadorial Honour, a testament to his dedication and impact on the youth diplomacy landscape.

Speaking on his departure, Ayo expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve and reiterated his commitment to youth development. “It has been an incredible journey, and I am grateful for the lives we’ve been able to touch through this platform. I specially appreciate Kayode Owoso who assisted me in this role and all Nigerian delegation for their cooperation. I look forward to continuing my work in empowering young people in new and exciting ways,” he said.

As he transitions from this role, Ayo leaves behind a legacy of excellence, inspiration, and growth. His leadership has set a solid foundation for future Nigerian representatives in IYDC, ensuring that the country remains a strong voice in youth diplomacy on the global stage.
