13 Kano state House of Assembly members-elect on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) were absent as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Kano issued Certificate of Return to Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje along other legislators-elect, at the Sani Abacha stadium on Wednesday.
Our reporter who covered the certificates ‘ issuance ceremony reports that no member-elect on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party was sighted among the legislators-elect on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) fuelling the suspicion that those who boycotted the ceremony are protesting the outcome of the governorship rerun in the state.
Blueprint findings however, revealed that such decision could have was taken to avoid being booed by thousands of APC supporters who thronged the Sani Abacha Stadium to express their solidarity to governor Ganduje .
A staunch supporter of the PDP supporter who spoke to Blueprint on condition of anonymity said it would be counterproductive for the 13 legislators-elect on the Platform of PDP to show up at the venue, stressing that gracing the occasion would be a tacit approval to the claim that the APC h won the governorship election.
