Christian clerics have felicitated with Muslim Ummah on this year’s Eid el-Maulud and called for ceaseless prayers to end insecurity challenges.
In a statement by the General Overseer of Christ Evangelical Intercessory Fellowship Ministries, Sabon Tasha, Pastor Yohanna Buru, said celebration of the birth of the Prophet Muhammad “goes beyond Muslims, because the prophet is for everyone.”
They noted that the Maulud celebration “is not for Muslims alone, because the Holy Prophet is for everyone; he preaches and promote peace and unity.
He said: “Indeed, this is a special season in Nigeria because there are double occasions at the same time and both of them are very significant to the life of Christians and Muslims (Eid el-Maulud and Christmas celebration). Both of them are important celebrations to both faith organisations.

“Today, Muslims round the world commences Maulud celebration, and many different Muslims organisation both home and abroad have started sending us invitation to immensely attend the Maulud celebration with them. Our bible teaches us to join and celebrate with our neighbour when they are happy and also he teaches us to mourn with them when they are sad.”
In their separate remarks, Imam  Gambo Abdullahi and Malam Sani Auta, both Muslim scholars, expressed satisfaction over the attitude of some Christian clerics that showed love and best wishes to the Muslim Ummah on the celebration of their Maulud, adding that both Muslims and Christians had one origin “which is Adam and Eve, and we all worship one God.”
The Muslim scholars then wished Christians round the world merry Christmas and happy new year in advance.
