CAF Champions League: Enugu Rangers adopt women’s club

Ahead of next year CAF Champions League, newly crowned champions of Nigeria Premier Football League, Rangers International of Enugu have adopted Green Foot Ladies FC of Enugu as their women team.

Recall that the Confederation of African Football (CAF) decided to change its rules in 2021, forcing clubs wishing to participate in men’s continental competitions in Africa to have a women’s team that will boost the development of the women’s game.

In a statement released by the Flying Antelopes, the collaboration will also encourage exposure to budding talents among young female footballers in the state.

“We are glad to announce an exciting new technical partnership between Rangers International FC Enugu and Green Foot Ladies Enugu.

“Through this collaboration, Rangers International FC will provide comprehensive support to Green Foot Ladies to foster the growth and development of women’s football in our community.

“This partnership underscores our commitment to promoting inclusivity, excellence, and opportunity in the sport we love. Together, we aim to nurture talent, enhance skills, and elevate the profile of women’s football in Enugu and beyond.
